The results of the 2nd World Grain Forum

23 November 2016

The 2nd World Grain Forum has completed its work in Sochi. It was attended by a delegation headed by Rostselmash CEO Valery Maltsev.

The Forum provided a unique opportunity to establish business contacts and exchange views and ideas between representatives of state authorities, international organizations, business community, media and civil society. The business program of the Forum included plenary sessions, panel discussions, conferences, round tables and business forums, and addressed the issues of global food security, as well as the intensification of international cooperation for the development of the world grain market infrastructure.

Nearly 2.5 thousand people, including official delegations from more than 50 countries, heads of international organizations and financial institutions, representatives of main Russian and foreign agricultural enterprises, the world’s leading scientists and analysts, attended the Forum.

Rostselmash CEO Valery Maltsev stressed that Rostselmash is ready to meet the challenges of the time. Mr. Maltsev said that the company is ready to build Russian machinery with the use of Russian components to ensure food security, provided that this machinery will be competitive on foreign markets. According to Valery Maltsev, electronic systems account today for 40% of innovations in the production of agricultural machinery. “Machine operator must become a controlling person but not a decision-making pilot”, said the Rostselmash CEO.

The Rostselmash company presented the grain-harvesting combine TORUM 750 and RSM 161 combine harvester in Sochi, which was developed with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

TORUM 750 is one of the high-performance rotary grain-harvesting combines in the world. During one harvest season, it can harvest more than 2 hectares of various crops and thresh 40 tons of grain per hour.

The exhibits aroused keen interest among foreign participants and guests of the Forum, who noted the high level and quality of the Russian agricultural machinery, and expressed interest in cooperation with the manufacturer.
